A Lightweight Content Governance Plan for a Small Team

Content governance sounds formal, but a small team mainly needs clarity: who can publish, who approves important claims, what gets reviewed, and where decisions are recorded.

Assign simple ownership

Give each important page an owner. Set a review trigger for changing prices, services, people, legal information, and time-sensitive claims. Keep a short change log so the team knows what was updated and why.

Make publishing safe

Use roles and approvals appropriate to the risk. Keep a content backlog, a list of reusable proof, and a way to report broken links or outdated copy. Review the process after a few months; it should save time, not create a second job.

A flexible content structure makes good governance easier to maintain.
