Every chat widget, analytics script, video embed, form service, font, and integration adds a dependency. Most are useful; some remain long after their original purpose has gone.
Make a list
Record what each tool does, who owns it, what data it receives, how it affects performance, what it costs, and what happens if it stops working. Look for duplicate analytics, unused pixels, expired subscriptions, and scripts loading on every page unnecessarily.
Keep the useful, remove the unclear
Prefer tools with clear ownership, documentation, privacy information, and a fallback. Recheck the list when the website changes.
A technical review can reveal which dependencies are affecting crawlability and experience.
